Why I Use WordPress Blogging Platform

I used to build my websites using Microsoft Front Page, but now I use WordPress.

Why?  Well, it’s not because it is easier (which it is), it’s not because takes less time (which it does), and it’s not because I can easily add a fully interactive blog (which I can)… all of the above reasons are true, but the real reason I use WordPress to build my websites is to get more traffic.  And that’s because it is much easier to get recognized in Google and therefore get higher search result rankings!

It’s simple really.  Search engines like fresh content, and blogs have fresh content.  Google and other search engines are constantly perusing blogging sites and blogging platforms to find fresh content.  Because I now build my websites on WordPress, a blogging platform, my websites (and their fresh content) get noticed a whole lot quicker, and the more relevant my content, the higher my sites are in the search results.  This website is built using WordPress, and as you can see, it is a blog.  I have websites that are not blogs (although some have blogs on them), that I also built on WordPress – all for the same reasons.  Even if it is not a blog, your site will be found faster and potentially get higher rankings when built on a blogging platform.  Here is an example of a website I built on WordPress, but it is not a blog.  It’s a website for, well, building websites.

Anyway, getting back to my point, using WordPress affords many other benefits that also help with SEO.  For instance, there are plugins available to help with your search engine optimization.

So there it is… I just wanted to give you the reasons I use WordPress.  It’s all about driving traffic through search engine placement and rankings.

By the way, if you are interested in using WordPress, you can do it for free on WordPress.com.  If you use WordPress.com, you will not own your domain name.  To own your domain name (which I highly recommend), you can host your WordPress website or blog by getting a web host.  I use HostGator, which I highly recommend.  You pay one flat fee for unlimited number of websites, and I even have a coupon code that will give you a discount of 25%.  The coupon code is:  switch2hostgator

HostGator is ideal for hosting WordPress websites and blogs… and you get to own your domains!  And I can tell you how to set it up… ask me and I might just blog about it!
