Three Steps To An Internet Marketing Business

Is is really that simple?  Yes it really is that simple, but that does not mean it’s easy.  However, if you do all the steps and you follow through without giving up, it will work.  Just like any business, it takes action.  So without further ado, here are the three steps to an Internet marketing business:

Step 1:  Build it
Step 2:  Market it
Step 3:  Maintain it

Maintaining it is the fun step, and to get there, you need to first put in your time and effort (or hire others to help you).  The goal is to get to the third step as quickly as you can.  Once there, you would have tested marketing techniques and you’ll know which works best for your niche / industry.  You’ll be using your time to tweak the process, and more importantly, how to replicate the process.  Yes, once you have a working online business, it’s time to build another one!  Let’s get a little deeper, shall we?  I’m going to do this in list format to make it easy to follow.  To get more detail on the steps, search this site.  If you do not find what you are looking for, ask me here.

Step 1:  Build It
Come up with an idea
Determine your keywords
Choose and register a domain name [NameCheap, GoDaddy]
Get a web hosting account [HostGator –> Get 25% off with code: switch2hostgator]
Host your domain (set the DNS)
Build your website

Whew!  Seems like a lot, but we’re not done yet…

Step 2:  Market It
Implement SEO
Install email opt-in (to build list – I use AWeber)
Back linking strategies
Article marketing
Social media marketing
Pay Per Click
Blogging
Forums and expert boards
List marketing
Joint venturing

Step 3:  Maintain It
Monitor & tweak
Make changes as necessary

Don’t forget to monetize your website.  This step should be conceived in the initial phase of your online business.  Are you selling a product?  If not, are you generating revenue from advertising?  You can always play with different monetizing techniques after your site is up and running.  For instance, you might find that your initial product is not selling so well, but your traffic is high due to the content on your website.  If this is the case, you can try Google AdSense, or selling advertising space as a media buy.  Your site just might turn out to be more profitable as an information portal.  Try different things until you figure out what works best.  Don’t forget, you can promote Clickbank products if you don’t have a product of your own.
