How To Identify A Niche Market

We hear all this hoopla around niche marketing.  Is it true?  Is this what needs to be done for online success?

The answer is yes.  If you are skeptical, then I’d like to share some information with you.  First, if you are not focusing on a niche, how is your online business doing?  Odds are, not very well.  Secondly, and more importantly, you must think of your online marketing efforts as a business.  Why do I say this?  Simple… because when you think of it as a business (which it is), you will begin to see the importance of a niche.  It does not matter if your business is online or offline, you need to focus on an industry, product, or related service.

Compare it to an offline business… would you open a business that simply sells anything you happen to come across?  No, you wouldn’t.  Odds are you’d carefully plan your products or services – especially when you consider how much time and money it takes to get a business going.  It seems logical that an offline business will have trouble succeeding without a focus.  Well my friends, the same thing holds true with an online business.  Hopefully you will begin to see what I am talking about here.

Ok, now that we understand that it is important, even imperative, to have a focus, or a niche, we pose the question… How do we find a profitable niche?  (By the way, I’d like to interject that this applies to offline businesses as well… why do you think so many of them fail?)

Here are your steps:

Following this process will allow you to identify niches that are in demand – a problem that needs to be solved, a problem that you can solve and be confident that you have an army of customers out there just waiting for you to solve their problems!
